"My personal goal is that every child is engaged and happy and that all their needs are met, and to ensure that the children with special educational needs are supported. I am friendly and approachable and you will mostly find me dancing with the children! My preschool nickname is DJ Dawny! I work with parents and colleagues to ensure that the best practice is constantly delivered. I have a genuine love for working with young children and I am sensitive to each of their unique needs. You'll always see me with a smile as I am passionate about my job."

I started working for Birstall Pre-School in 2005 when my own son was attending, he is now 24, and I’m still here! Along the way I was given the opportunity to learn about child development and at present hold a level three award. I enjoy my role and I’m very fortunate to be working alongside a highly valued team of professionals who truly care about the lives of the young people they nurture."

"Loose parts play is a vital component of early childhood development, offering children endless opportunities to explore, imagine, and create. Because loose parts have no fixed purpose, they invite open-ended thinking and allow children to use them in countless ways, building, sorting, role-playing, or inventing entirely new scenarios. This freedom encourages problem-solving, collaboration and decision making, while nurturing creativity and confidence. By manipulating a variety of materials, children also develop fine and gross motor skills and learn to express their ideas more fully. In essence, loose parts transform play into a rich, imaginative process where children lead their own learning and discover new possibilities at every turn."
